Catholic Roads: The Eucharistic Trail of the Palmetto State

Welcome to Catholic Roads …
Where faith and friendship meet on the highways and byways of South Carolina.
Here, every road tells a story, and every parish is a holy stop along The Eucharistic Trail — a pilgrimage across the Palmetto State to encounter the living presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

The Road We Travel …
The Diocese of Charleston and the State of South Carolina share the same map. Every town, every county, and every country road you travel passes through a diocese rich with faith and history.
The same roads that take you to antique shops or BarBQ places can also lead you to parish churches where Christ is truly present — body, blood, soul, and divinity — waiting there for you in His tabernacle.
The Heart of the Trail …
At the Last Supper, Jesus took bread and wine, and blessed them, saying,
“This is My Body… This is My Blood.”
He knew that He was about to die, and so He meant exactly what He said. Today, in every Catholic parish across South Carolina, Jesus is still keeping that promise.
When you enter a parish church on The Eucharistic Trail, you’re not just visiting a building — you’re stepping into the presence of the living Christ, who promised to remain with us until the end of the age.

Faith on the Highway …
To travel The Eucharistic Trail is to believe first — and then see. We believe Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist, and by that belief, the Holy Spirit brings our faith to life.
This journey is part pilgrimage, part prayer, and part adventure — inviting families, friends, and fellow travelers to discover the beauty of faith alive in the Palmetto State.

Beyond the Church Walls …
Every stop on The Eucharistic Trail is surrounded by the charm of small-town South Carolina — friendly people, good food, historic streets, and hidden treasures!
As you visit each parish, take a moment to pray for the priest, the deacons, and the people of that community — and for all those who have yet to discover Christ’s love too. Then, step outside and enjoy the simple blessings that make this state such a beautiful place to live and explore—and to experience the blessing of the Holy Eucharist!

Our Story …
The Eucharistic Trail is more than a map — it’s a movement of faith, a call to evangelization, and a way to meet Jesus along the roads we already travel.
Every parish is a sacred destination. Every mile is an invitation to pray, love, and serve.
We’re E.B and Opa. And every journey reminds us that Jesus is alive and still present with us today — just as He promised.
We’re traveling The Eucharistic Trail, drawing caricatures and cartoons of the places we see. It’s our way of inviting you to make the Palmetto State your favorite place for pilgrimages.
That’s His story — and our story too. And we’re sticking to it.
