Prayer On The Go!

Stuck in traffic? Just passing through town? Rolling down the highway—making good time? What if your daily commute could actually change the world?

Welcome to Rolling Prayer—where every mile is a mission trip and every journey is an opportunity to pray. Whether you're driving, biking, or just walking down the street, God will show you who to pray for along the way, if only you will hear and listen.

Prayer Isn’t Just For Church!

That broken-down car on the side of the road? “I’m not mechanical,” you think. “I can’t do anything to help them … think again! Pray for that driver—those people—in their time of need.

That house with a new wheelchair ramp? You don’t know any of them. You couldn’t help them, even if you wanted to. Think again! Pray for the family.

That school bus full of kids? Wish you could do something to inspire them or encourage them! You know you can’t just go on that school bus and talk to the kids. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do anything for them. Ask God to bless them.

PRAYER ISN’T JUST FOR CHURCH — IT’S FOR THE ROAD TOO! 🚦💨

Praying on the Go: Changing the World One Mile at a Time

Life moves fast. We spend hours commuting to work, running errands, and traveling from place to place. But what if those everyday moments—behind the wheel, on a bike, or even walking down the street—could be transformed into powerful opportunities for prayer?

That is what’s at the very heart of Rolling Prayer.

Ministry in Motion

The idea behind Rolling Prayer is simple: instead of letting travel time slip by unnoticed, we use it to pray. Whether you’re driving a truck across the country, riding a motorcycle through town, or just walking in your neighborhood, you can turn your journey into a mission of prayer.

While the concept of praying on the go isn’t new, Rolling Prayer is a fresh approach to making travel and commutes both intentional and transformative. We’re not just saying prayers—we’re learning to see the world with God’s eyes and to intercede for the people and places we pass.

An Ancient Practice with a New Name

The roots of Rolling Prayer go way back to the 12th century, to a man that the world knows today as St. Dominic. He was a great preacher, also known for praying constantly as he walked from town to town. His prayer was so intense that people thought he was swatting at flies. What St. Dominic was doing is the same thing you see athletes do so often in a sporting event just before doing something really intense. He blessed himself with each new prayer for someone or something else. And of course, even before there was a St. Dominic, Jesus Himself spent much of His ministry walking and praying, always aware of those in need around Him.

Inspired by this tradition, Rolling Prayer was born out of mission work. My wife, E.B., and I first encountered something similar during a mission trip to China and Taiwan, where we learned about Prayer Walking. Later, as we ministered among bikers, cowboys, and truckers—people who are constantly on the move—we saw how easily prayer could be woven into their daily travels. And so, Rolling Prayer became a way of life for us and for anyone else, anywhere, to transform their daily commutes into sacred journeies.

How Does It Work?

The beauty of Rolling Prayer is in its simplicity. As you travel, pay attention to what’s happening around you (that’s a pretty good idea for safe drivers anyway). That car broken down on the highway? Say a prayer for the driver. The house you pass with people building a wheelchair ramp? Pray for the family inside and the people giving their time to build the ramp. The school bus picking up children? Ask God to bless the students and teachers and the homes of those children.

You don’t have to know their names or anyting about their struggles—God already knows all that. Your role is simply to lift them up in prayer as you pass by.

Your Invitation to Join the Movement

Rolling Prayer isn’t just a personal devotion—it’s a movement. Imagine Christians everywhere blanketing their communities with prayer, street by street, mile by mile. Imagine the impact if every person of faith turned their daily commute into a time of intercession.

That’s our vision. It started with us. And now, we’re passing it on to you.

Will you join us? The next time you’re on the road, take a moment to pray. Open your eyes to the needs around you. And let’s see what God does when His people pray on the move.
