Milo Moments | Quiet Reflections For Children Of All Ages
You’re Doing Better Than You Think. That’s the theme for this quite reflection for children of all ages. Some say Milo Moments is a semi-autobiographical look at Opa own a child. He’s not denying that, but he hasn’t assented yet either.

Meet Milo: A Little Boy With Big Questions
Some cartoons are written to make us laugh.
Some are written to make a point.
And some simply invite us to pause for a moment and quietly say, "Yes... I've felt that too."
That is Milo.
Milo is a little fellow about six or seven years old. He wears rolled-up dungarees, an oversized hoodie, and carries around a heart that is trying to make sense of the world. He isn't exactly sad, and he certainly isn't gloomy. But there is a little melancholy in him—a longing for things to be good, true, and beautiful.
In many ways, Milo is Opa as a little boy nearly seventy years ago.
As a child, Opa moved often. There were always new schools, new neighborhoods, and new friends. But in those days, before social media and smartphones, moving away often meant saying goodbye forever. Friends simply disappeared into memory. Life changed quickly, and sometimes it was hard to understand why.
And if we're honest, even as adults, many of us still feel that way.
Some things still don't seem to fit together.
Some questions remain unanswered.
Some days are beautiful, and others are difficult.
The world can be confusing.
Milo gently reminds us of something important: the world is not exactly the way God intended it to be. It is a fallen world. Yet it is not without grace.
There is still kindness.
There is still friendship.
There are still sunsets, old songs, front porches, warm kitchens, and moments of unexpected peace.
There is still love.
There is still God.
That is what Milo Moments is all about.
Drawn in simple black-and-white line art, these little cartoons are not really humorous, nor are they satirical. They are quiet reflections on life itself—seen through the eyes of a little boy and an old man who still remembers being him.
Most of us are somewhere in between.
Perhaps that is why Milo speaks so gently to the heart.
His messages are simple.
Encouraging.
Hopeful.
Peaceful.
They remind us that it is okay not to have everything figured out. It is okay to wonder. It is okay to miss people, to hope for good things, and to keep looking for God's fingerprints in ordinary life.
And perhaps, every now and then, Milo can help us notice that those fingerprints are closer than we think.
So pull up a chair, slow down for a moment, and spend a little time with Milo.
His stories are for children of all ages.
And maybe... they are for you.
